AN EXQUISITE AFTERNOON

When Olivia walks into a room, she is a surge of positive energy. Her being my younger cousin, I have seen this my entire life. She was glowing even more than usual on this afternoon where a wonderful group of women gathered in her honor for her bridal shower.

Any event or gathering that my Auntie Maria is the hostess of is always so elegant yet with simple details. The soft puffy peonies and vibrant gerbera daisies sprung like spring from every table at The L’Andana Grill. The pastel pink and cream colored cupcakes sat silently like flowers surrounded by rose petals. The harpist that seemed to magically appear in the far corner played musical notes from The Beatles and Billy Joel. But the subtle fire reminded all of us that spring was not quite here just yet. It was so nice to see women I had not seen in years and great to reminisce with others about Olivia through the years. There was a lot of laughter and maybe a few tears shed during Maria’s speech to the bride-to-be.

Even though Olivia is only a couple years younger than me, I feel like it is about fifteen. I feel like all my cousins are still teenagers….how time goes by so fast. I have watched Olivia bloom into a witty, confident and successful career woman who met her best friend and love of her life, Edward. They could not of found anyone else more perfect for each other. I am so excited to welcome Ed permanently into my group of cousins and family that I have. You two are truly just fabulous!

Liv, I love you like a cousin and in my book that means I love you like a sister. I am beyond thrilled to be able to share your special day with everyone in Boston in a few weeks!

As the lady cousins of mine on this side of the family would say; Liv, your wedding day is going to be exquisite!
