Fall Has Arrived (Sort Of) in South Florida
The fall weather has finally rolled into South Florida- let’s hope it hangs out for a bit. Tonight’s forecast is a brisk 59° (cue my New England family’s eye rolls). But hey, we’ll take what we can get!
Cooler temps mean it’s time to break out something comforting. Enter: the Campfire Cocktail– our go-to bourbon drink with a toasted marshmallow twist. Bonus: it’s named after our dog’s favorite whiskey (shoutout to Woodford Reserve).
🥃 How to Make a Campfire Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 2 oz bourbon (we love Woodford Reserve)
- 0.5 oz marshmallow syrup (recipe below)

Instructions:

- Simmer for 5–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves.
- Toast marshmallows using a kitchen torch (arguably the most fun part).
- Add toasted marshmallows to the syrup and cook for another 2–3 minutes until fully dissolved.
- Remove from heat, strain through a fine mesh sieve, and let cool.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
Storage Tip: Store in a glass bottle or jar in the fridge for up to 1 month.
